As we sense the physical and social infrastructure of our city crumbling and sinking beneath our feet, it is our unwavering passion for our culture that holds us together. The parasol is a symbol of New Orleans, carried through the streets by our band leaders and Baby Dolls at times of celebration. It is a symbol of joy and leadership, but when the wind and the rain rolls on in, can the parasol still keep us dry?
