GlogauAIR Residency Oct. - Dec. 2025
Bryn came to GlogauAIR as a step in her journey of moving from New Orleans, USA, to Berlin, Germany. The work she has developed during this time weaves together narratives of home with insights gained from her new environment. Guided by the lessons learned while living in New Orleans, the pieces she presents ultimately examine a search for finding belonging within a foreign city.

Watch Your Step
This is a series of mixed-media collages tells of Bryn's experience in exploring and understanding the urban fabric of Berlin. These collages implement observed repeating patterns and found objects she collected while walking through the city. Her meticulous technique invites the viewer to take a critical look at the material composition of the works, drawing an analogy to the importance of not accepting truths at face value, but taking time to observe and understand history.

Perfect Posture
Every body carries a novel’s worth of information etched into its bones. Past injuries and repetitive strain directly shapes how the body moves. With Bryn’s background in ballet, posture was ingrained in her until it became an obsession. This collection offers a visual exploration of what it means to stand in perfect alignment.

Not So Distant Memories
This series of work is about the malleability and fragility of memories. This work considers how some memories will stick with us for years while others fade away with time. As we grow and change, the perspective from which we reflect upon our past can completely reshape a memory. The memory becomes a collage, stitched together with new meanings and associations, patches over wounds, and threads to new aspirations.
This series initially stemmed from a meeting I had with an elderly woman who is sick with dementia. She has a lifetime's worth of wisdom and stories to share but could not recognize her daughter's face when she was sitting right beside her. It was as if her memories were dissolving from the inside out, and made me ask, what can she grasp that I can not?

Pneuma
What quiets your mind?
Where do you find the peace to not think and be entirely present?
For me it when I am dancing. My hips react to the drums, my feet to the keys, and my shoulders to the brass. My brain becomes an ensemble of music and nothing can distract me.
I can also lose myself in a tedious task -- a meticulous and repetitive motion that allows me to forget about the future results of my labor. I feel confident in each step, and can relax into the repetition.
The work featured explores my experience with different states of meditation from these moments of mindfulness to traditional seated practice.
What do you discover when you silence your thoughts?

That Won't Stop the Rain
Living in New Orleans can feel like standing on a faulty foundation. We often rely on temporary fixes as permanent solutions to life-threatening problems. As we sense the physical and social infrastructure of our city crumbling and sinking beneath our feet, it is our unwavering passion for our culture that holds us together. The parasol is a symbol of New Orleans, carried through the streets by our band leaders and Baby Dolls at times of celebration. It is a symbol of joy and leadership, but when the wind and the rain rolls on in, can the parasol still keep us dry?
Material composition of this sculpture includes found object, wire, beads, antigravity magazines, sail shells, ostrich feathers, chain, and trim.

Dancers
Series of paintings featuring the elegance and strength of dancers.

The Conformist
This eight part series of paintings features sketched scenes from Bernardo Bertolucci's film, The Conformist. The rapid sketches were made as the movie ran and without stopping to look at the paper. This spontaneous process resulted in an abstract and dynamic visual storyboard that captures the progression of the film.

Unfulfilled Dream
This collection is about a childhood spent in the disciplined and dream-filled world of the ballet studio. Although the path to becoming a prima ballerina was never fully realized, the experience left a lasting imprint of ambition and grace.

Digital Art
Architectural drawings and renderings created while studying at Tulane University. These projects explore artistic visualization and creativity, blending diagrammatic information with playful artistry to convey both expression and spacial organization.
